Dear Fellow Bird Watcher:
I’m taking laptop in hand today to extend my personal invitation to you to come to the third-annual American Birding Expo, September 29 to October 1, 2017, at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia.
The Expo is a unique opportunity for birders and nature enthusiasts to experience what we call “the world of birding in one place!” What I mean by that is: There will be more than 100 exhibitors at the Expo—from all over the world—displaying and sharing products, destinations, experiences, services, information, organizations, conservation causes, and events with Expo attendees. Imagine if you went into a giant shopping mall and every store in it was selling things related to your favorite leisure time activity! To me that sounds like a dream come true!
But the Expo is not just about selling you stuff. We’re also eager to introduce new people to bird watching and bird feeding, so we’ve dedicated an Expo booth to each of these topics. Visitors to the Get Started in Bird Feeding or Get Started in Bird Watching booths will be greeted by a friendly volunteer who can answer questions and share lots of free printed or digital information on these enjoyable, enriching activities. We’ll also be hosting free morning seminars on bird watching, bird feeding, and birding skills, as well as free guided bird walks at five area birding spots.
Julie Zickefoose and Scott Weidensaul, two highly accomplished naturalist/authors will give evening keynote talks on Friday and Saturday nights respectively. These talks are included with an Expo weekend pass, which is just $10 (plus a small credit card fee for advance ticket purchases).
To join us at the 2017 American Birding Expo, visit the Expo website to learn more, browse our amazing list of exhibitors, and plan your Expo experience.
I look forward to seeing you there!
